What have we been up to? Here I’ll keep my customers up to date with events, seasonal changes in the New Zealand Flower Market & general tips to make your flowers last.

2022 upcoming events - January & February

Halfway through January 2022 already! Crikey! I’m always surprised at how quickly the first month of the year flies by. I’ve got 2 weddings under my belt so far this year - both of which were rescheduled after we went into lockdown here in Auckland in August 2021.

Coming up next on the calendar are 2 markets, 2 long weekends & Valentine’s Day. Yes, only a month to go until the biggest day in the florists’ year.

I’ll be at the 14oz Denim Flea Market in Kingsland on Saturday 22nd January. I’ll have lots of Succulent plants, dried flowers, ready-made fresh flower posies & some cut flower bunches for sale. The market usually runs from 10AM - 2PM. I’ll confirm this on Social Media during the week.

Decent Coffee in Morningside is planning a market on Sunday 30th January. Tentatively this will be from 9AM - 1PM. Again, I’ll be confirming this closer to the day on Social Media. I’m looking forward to this one as we were scheduled to do the first market here back in August last year. Due to the Covid Delta variant it had to be postponed.

Upcoming holidays for Auckland are Monday 31st January - Auckland Anniversary Day & Monday 7th February - to observe Waitangi Day. The shop will be closed on both these days. In addition the shop will also be closed on Saturday 5th February. I’ll be taking a break before the big week ahead.

Last, but not least, Valentine’s Day is Monday 14th February. I know I say this every year but it really pays to be organised & plan ahead for Valentine’s Day. If you want flowers to be delivered, especially to a workplace , please try not to wait until the actual day. Our couriers have extra drivers on but, due to the sheer number of deliveries, it’s simply not possible to get them all delivered quickly. Please also bear in mind that deliveries to the CBD & Viaduct Harbour area may experience delays as the work on the Auckland Transport City Rail Link continues. From day to day different roads can be closed & access to some streets is more difficult. If you do leave it to the last minute but want flowers delivered by a specified time please select the Time Critical delivery option at the checkout.

I will endeavour to get all pre-orders received by midday on Sunday 13th out in a timely manner on Monday 14th. Any orders received after that time will be processed as quickly as possible & delivered later in the day.

I’m looking forward to hearing from all my lovely customers this year, existing & new.

Take care & stay well!
