This terrarium comes in a 180mm high x 250mm wide glass fishbowl and features assorted Succulent plants, decorative stones, moss and the cutest ceramic toadstools. Presented in a natural gift bag this would make a great gift for a new home or birthday. Succulents are easy to care for plants that require very little watering. Place in a well lit position away from direct sunlight and water very sparingly every 2-3 weeks.
Dating back to the 1840’s the first Terrarium was created accidentally by Botanist Nathaniel Ward. They became popular during the Victorian Era and were known as Wardian Cases. These first examples were often in closed containers creating a mini ecosystem within. The modern Terrariums are more often open containers and house a variety of easy care plants like Cacti, Succulents and small house plants. They may also feature fun objects making each one a little whimsical and unique.
To care for a Terrarium you need to position them so they receive a decent amount of natural light, without sitting them in direct sunlight. Too much sun on your container may cook your plants. Watering should be done sparingly once every 2-3 weeks. Never pour water directly onto the plants or let your container fill up with water. The stones at the bottom of the container act as a drainage layer.
